Marc Pacifico has undergone extensive training throughout his medical and surgical career. During his medical school training he took a year out to undertake a further degree in physiology, for which he was awarded first class honours. His research project for the year looked at blood vessel responses to temperature, a topic that is fundamental to all areas of plastic surgery.
After graduating from St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College (Barts), London, in 1997, he qualified as a surgeon in 2000. Once his plastic surgery specialist training was underway in London and the South East of England, he spent a further 2-years researching ways of improving patient survival and outcome in melanoma, the most sinister form of skin cancer. He was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine for his thesis in 2005.
Mr Pacifico's most recent qualification was gaining the FRCS (Plast.) exam, which is the consultant-level final exam that is required to be included in the General Medical Council specialist register as a plastic surgeon. For this qualification, Mr Pacifico came top in the country and was awarded the prestigious Ian McGregor "gold" medal.
Mr Pacifico is now the President of the BAAPS (the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons), a Full Member of BAPRAS (the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), a Full Member of ISAPS (the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons), and International Member of the Aesthetic Society (the American Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Society) and on the GMC (General Medical Council) specialist register for Plastic Surgery.
